Pet Walker App Privacy Policy

Pet Walker App (the Pound Hill Pets App) is a private business-management application developed by Digital Powder for Pound Hill Pets. Authorised Pound Hill Pets staff use it to manage clients, pets, enquiries, bookings, routines, walks and invoices. It is not available for public registration. This notice explains the app’s handling of Google account and Calendar data.

Google data we access and why

• Account identity: OpenID and your Google email address identify the connected account in the app. You authorise the connection on Google’s own consent screen; the app does not receive your Google password.
• Calendar list: calendar names, identifiers and access roles let you select calendars to check for availability and a writable calendar for pet-care bookings.
• Availability: free/busy start and end times from your selected calendars help staff avoid scheduling conflicts. This check displays busy periods, not the titles or descriptions of your existing personal events.
• Booking events: Calendar event permission lets the app create, update and delete the Google events linked to its bookings. A booking event can contain pet and client names, service, appointment times, a client phone number and address when provided, and a link back to the app. Events are created with private visibility in the selected booking calendar. People with sufficient access to that calendar may still be able to see their details.

Use and sharing

Google data is used to identify the connected account and support Pound Hill Pets scheduling and appointment management. Booking details are sent to Google to maintain the corresponding Calendar event. Data is handled by the website’s hosting service and may be accessed by authorised Pound Hill Pets staff and Digital Powder when necessary to operate or support the app.

Google user data is not sold, used for advertising or profiling, shared with unrelated third parties, or used to train general-purpose AI models. Pet Walker App’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Storage and retention

The website stores the connected Google email address, authorisation tokens and selected calendar identifiers in its server-side WordPress database while the connection is active. Booking records also store the corresponding calendar and event identifiers, the last successful sync time and any sync error needed to manage the connection. Access to the app is restricted to authorised accounts, and communication with Google’s API uses HTTPS.

Calendar lists and free/busy responses are requested as needed for calendar selection and scheduling; the app does not import a copy of your personal event titles or descriptions. Business booking records and their sync references remain until those records are removed through the business’s data-management process. Disconnecting Google does not automatically delete existing booking records or events already created in Google Calendar.

Disconnecting and requesting deletion

You can use the app’s Disconnect Google control to remove its stored authorisation tokens, connected email address and calendar selections and stop further Calendar syncing. You can also revoke the app’s access through the third-party connections settings in your Google Account. To request deletion of remaining app records or ask about data retained by Pound Hill Pets, contact info@poundhillpets.co.uk. Records may need to be retained where required for the business’s legal or accounting obligations.
